Orchestral & Chamber
Marged is a passionate chamber musician and thrives whilst engaging in chamber music ranging from duets, harp ensemble, chamber orchestra, musical theatre pit performance, to full symphony orchestra. She started her harp studies at age 9 with Principal Harpist of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra Eluned Pierce at the Junior Department of the Royal Welsh College, who inspired her, and instilled her love of orchestra thanks to the passion and encouragement she showed. Marged joined the National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain aged 12 which led to further extensive and varied orchestral experiences performing with all the major British youth orchestras of which she was joint Principal and Principal harp. These experiences gave her exposure of working with world renowned conductors including Sir Neville Marriner, Vasily Petrenko, Sir Mark Elder, Carlo Rizzi and Antonio Pappano in some of the best concert venues in the world.
Whilst studying for her Masters degree Marged appeared in concert with the BBC Symphony Orchestra of Wales through their side-by-side scheme and benefitted for two years from the WNO side-by-side scheme. In the summer of 2019, Marged graduated from the Harp Masters Audition Training Course in Switzerland with Petra Van Der Heide, enhancing her orchestral skills further.
…she is alert to every gesture or glance, instinctively adjusting to my interpretational whims, often with a reassuring smile.
